Hi, I’m Nicola McCrabbe. First, let’s look at my mission. I help professionals dealing with overwhelm and burn out to learn healthier habits for more success and satisfaction. 

Next, is my background in a nutshell. I am an executive leadership coach and speaker with a background spanning various industries, including academic, corporate, non-profit, and IT.  I get the technical stuff but love the people stuff. As a result, I transitioned from being a computer science “junkie” to a people “junkie” over 15 years ago. I believe that Better People make for Better Teams and Organizations.

Here’s how I got to where I am today. My passion for Better People started in my earliest days of teaching. For instance, some of my proudest moments involved empowering weaker students to feel good about themselves and their work. Later, academic teaching enabled me to hone in on teaching degree-level courses. My stint in the corporate world allowed me to experience working with high-performing teams and work in various industries in IT.

Still, I wanted to focus more on helping people grow and feel confident — to create Better People. Hence, the move from computer science to coaching. Initially, I focused on career coaching and helping others discover their strengths and uniqueness to feel confident. Next, I moved into leadership coaching to help create “Better People and Better Organizations”. Finally, in my latest pivot, I have taken my recent life experience with burnout and all my previous experience to help leaders and teams at the most basic level — resilience 


Resilience. Resilience is about being able to manage life’s stressors. I’m particularly interested in helping high-achievers and perfectionists.

EARLIER. I worked extremely hard all my life, and I succeeded at my wildest dreams. I switched careers repeatedly to prove that I could achieve anything and be anyone I wanted to be. The sky was the limit! Yet, if you are hardworking like me and honest with yourself, you may agree that the journey is not always a pleasant one. When things are going well, you feel confident. Even when the going gets tough, you may extend yourself and keep going. However, living a life of chronic stress will eventually take its toll on you, your relationships, and finally, your work.

TURNING POINT. When I finally burnt out from years of stress, I decided that I needed a fresh start. I needed to figure out why I had burnt out, how to recover, and lead a healthier life. Initially, I took time out to recover. Next, being the curious person that I am, I did some research. From this research and my own lived experience, I wrote a book and, in the process, figured out how to be resilient.  

TRANSFORMATION. I did not simply learn how to be healthy; I practised being healthy. I created new routines in my life to prevent and manage stress and be more resilient. Above all, these routines give me a sense of joy and hope for the future. 

MY WORK. While my work is research focused and based on scientific principles, it also has a human component to it. My passion is to help you become more resilient to deal with stressors at work. Clients have described me as warm and caring. I will be your best advocate and help you to deal with your daily stressors so that you come out triumphant on the other side. Together, we will work side-by-side for a better future for you.
